Barrow load of walnuts from tree that blew over!

The walnut harvest at the cottage this year has been beyond our wildest expectations, after the tree spent two months flat on the ground in the latter part of the winter. We were about to cut it up for firewood when we realised leaves were beginning to appear, so we decided to give it another chance. We pushed it back up, with the help of a chain attached to a nearby tree, and despite the fact that the trunk was split about two feet off the ground, it has rewarded our efforts by providing us with the most abundant crop we have seen in almost 20 years!
